Yeah, my Marlinitis is flaring up again too..... 336 Texan in .35 rem is calling me
Not taking a rifle out hunting because it has lovely wood, fine checkering and well-executed metal work, is like refusing to marry and enjoy a gorgeous woman because she will get old and wrinkled.

I will try to post pictures later today,i think my rifle was 1 yr production 1970,it has a straight grip monte carlo stock with a marlin 1870/1970 medallion in it,24 inch micro groove barrel and cost too much,i paid 649.00 which i felt was 100.00 to much but who knows when i would have a chance at another

I'm looking forward to seeing some pics. I am currently waiting for a .444p. Waiting sucks... I want it right now! I even got a set of Skinner sights for it, so I'm pretty anxious to get it home... Will start casting bullets as well, ordering a mold from mountain molds that will throw a 330grain bullet. This is going to be fun...

Good choice, great lever selection. You will never know when you will have an MFU, (Marlinitis Flare Up). My wife hates when I go to the local gun shows.

Those 444P's are hard to find here, may I ask, how did you find one? Congratulations on getting one, I really like mine, (both). DP
