Well, just for variety, I will post my load. It's a book max load of Varget with a 200 gr Rem CL. My gun loves the 200 gr Hornady RN but i am still hunting with the CL's I bought up. They are almost as accurate and a little less tough.

I'm having good results at the range with 40.0 gr of Varget and 180gr Speer FP (In both of my .35s). Slightly under max. Hopefully I'll get to unleash it on a deer this season.

I use the Hornady 200 gr round noses. Had good luck with just under max loads of Lever revolution. Lately I've been using a midrange load of H335 because I'm working on an eight pound jug of it. It groups pleanty well enough for woods hunting.

    Pighunter,

Every rifle will have what it likes and what it doesn't. For my 1986 35 Rem I bought a bunch of factory loads and went from there. It didn't really like any of the round nose soft points. I When I say it didn't like them it wouldn't better than a 2" group open sights at 50 yds. However when I tried Hornady levereverlution the groups shrunk to about an inch or slightly less. I figured I was onto something so I developed a load based off that bullet and powder. Below is the target I shot and the load that just plain is outstanding!
The load data is on the target.

I can't thank all y'all enough for all the replys and and different load suggestions, some of the suggested powders i haven't tried and i was under the impression we were limited to a small variety of bullets but it seems there's more than im aware of... i guess Google didnt like me much on my searches, im also new to this cartridge even though its been right under my nose for years i just always had the love affair with my 45-70 but the .35 is like a new found favorite already , if i could only find reasonable prices on brass id be in heaven !! I definitely have some reading to do and try many suggestions, my gun seems to be doing fairly well with 200gr hornady interlock and 27.5gr 4198 which is just a pinch over max listed , ive started lower but didnt like that as well , when i was shooting the 4064 same bullet i was getting mixed results but i got some advice on my stock situation so im trying to get that sorted out , then i guess i will start the process over but those were the two powders i found published loads on so started there

I bought a bunch of Hornady 35 Rem brass from Midway USA when it went on sale. I got it when they had it on sale for $28.00 for 50 and bought 2 bags of them. Right now they are $36.95 for 50.

My old waffletop loves the LE's and feed them also. Taken 4 deer with them and they are effetive. Also I like is near max load of Lever powder. My Stock of Remington CL's shoots to very near the same point of aim as the factory LE's. Close enough so that I don't need to change things. I am still accumulating cases from factory loads.

Is the hornady brass full length? I know I've got a couple hundred rounds of it for my 45-70 thats too short to load unless i use that ftx bullet

My Hornady book lists 13 powders suitable for there 200 gr bullets. Top velocities come from LEVERevolution powder. X-terminator, VIHT N-135 and Win 748 just behind. The others are below them. It doesn't mention anything about the FTX cases being shorter. It does on a lot of the other cartridges that use the FTX bullet. Leo
