    Good morning, fellow Virginian!

    I am a huge Remington fan, specifically pre-1950 pumps and semiautos both rifle and shotguns. I am also very much fascinated with gun manufacturing history and I pay close attention to any markings, code letters, and fitter's/assembly marks.

    Retired Engineer, your receiver-mounted 141 Gamemaster appears to read EJ with the "comma" marking at the barrel root adjacent to the receiver.
    EJ = October 1940

    Sideswipe, your 141 Gamemaster reads LF and "comma" = February 1937

    Thanks for creating this thread, RetEng!

    This one is "new" compared to my 1926 Mod 14. I am hoping that it will be as accurate as the Mod 14.

    I no fan of pump action rifles...
    But, the Rem model 14/141 is a rifle I really like.
    I have been wanting one in 35 Rem for quite awhile.
    I look when I go to the flea markets and gun shows but never
    see one.
    I hope someday I find one that's a littke rough around the edges...
    and already D/T'd....It would make a great beater for carry on the
    SXS.

    Got the Model 141 dialed in with 200 gr Sierra RN bullets and LVR powder. The peep definitely helps my old eyes at 60 yards. I can bust apart little chunks of orange clay birds laying on the ground--and that is pretty good for me when not using a scope.

    I have never had a 14 or 141 that didn't shoot good. I load round nose bullets in 30 & 32 also. I have not loaded for a 25 but if I did it would be RN.
