    Cross Bolt Safety

Has anyone figured out yet how to defeat the cross bolt safety without voiding warranty? Really hate it but don't want to lose warranty.

    1. Remove the stock.
    2. Clean the goop out of the Allen Head screw.
    3. Push the CBS to the 'FIRE' position.
    4. Tighten the Allen Head Screw tight enough so CBS will not move.
    5. Replace Stock.

Another technique is to use a 7/32" I.D. rubber O-ring to positively lock the cross-bolt safety in the OFF position. They look like part of the gun, yet can be easily removed with a fingernail if desired.

    Hutch45,

For 34 cents the gun stays in warranty. Whatever man can do, man can undo. Thanks for the idea.

If you would like to get rid of it all together, Long Hunter Shooting Supply has a 'plug' with a slotted end that replaces the safety button. It fills the hole and looks like a screw head on one side and flat on the other side. It is locked in place with the set screw under the stock. It is $17.00 plus S&H. Rubber "O" rings worked flawlessly for me......and they do look like part of the gun.

Long as you keep the parts the saftey replacement from long hunters won't void anything. Just dont ship the gun to Marlin without swapping it back. Takes 5 minutes putting in or taking out & alters nothing.
