New range report on the 69 Western Field 30-30

Finally got the 69 Western Field sighted in. This was the one with the Western Field scope that had the windage screw all the way in and was still a little left of center. I bought a new set of the Weaver style clamp on detachable rings and remounted the scope. I had to back the screw out about 70 clicks or so to get the results in the pic at 50 yards. The circle is about 4 inches in diameter.

Nice group. Even if you get "excited" you'll still hit that deer ...also glad it was something simple.

It's always nice to find that it's an easy fix. Good stuff right there.

Hey Desparodo....could you see if the rings were physically bent? I would think you should being that far off. To me it sounds like the previous owner dropped that gun and one of the rings got bent.

I couldn't say for sure. When I got this it had a Bushnell Spikehorn scope on it and I don't remember how it shot. I wanted to match up some of my rifles with period correct same brand scopes just for the heck of it and that's why the Western Field scope. I think the Weaver clamp style detachable rings are pretty close to period correct and it all works so I'm happy with this one.
