That's a fine looking rifle in either case.

That's a good'n you dog. Try to find something like that in Arkansas is like trying to find a certain screw in a Folgers can of similar screws.

Yes it does. Wood is perfect and has the serial number inside.

    Very nice!

I’ve never heard of these before. What does that do for the value?

The really nice thing about this apart from it being a great rifle is that it's gone to someone who knows what it is, appreciates it and will look after it for posterity.

The other really good thing is that folks help each other here, every one now has a smile because its a good ending as well. I bet when it's dark that carved Deer has a smile too. Gar.

Also Gents...notice that the JM stamp in on the right side, not always on the left side of the barrel. Great find and good looking for an old dog, now take it out and teach it to hunt!

You know if you are a N.H. resident you don't pay the sales tax on guns.iam not sure if there is a price minimum but I never pay tax on any gun I bought there.
I meant KTP, but they are now giving gift cards ( $ 50. on a $ 420. purchase) instead of driving your firearm across the bridge into N.H. I am not sure for how long, as they said it was because of the work going on on the bridge.

KTP will sell a long gun with no tax if you pick it up down the road over the state line. Cabela's won't do that anytime I've asked.
