    what was the 1st yr of production on the 336ss in 3030? thanks

    2001 but the 336M was made for one year in 2000 and is identical other than the stamp on the barrel.

    Not to hijack this thread, but the OP might want to know the answer to my question about a walnut stocked 336 SS LTD in 35 Rem with 18" barrel that I stumbled upon the other day. Was this a Davidson's rifle and when was it made? Serial number starts with 336SS.

    I think those were made in 2005 for Davidson’s. Only 500 were made. Did the you buy it?

    No, it's in a collection of 1894 SS LTD's. This guy has the entire set of them with the 16.25" barrels. He will only sell the whole batch for the right offer. I'm trying to think of a safe $ number to offer. I only want a couple. Would it be safe to assume I could get $1,000 each quite easily for one's I don't need?

    You'd could easily move the ones you didn't want for 1K each.

    I guess i have a year transition rifle. My 336ss serial number starts with 000. Must of have been one of the first 336ss.

    sorry guys I should of been more specific..lol... 1 I'm looking at is a 2002. stainless,Checkered walnut...just curious as to when marlin started making these in stainless.. also did these come with a blued or stainless hammer spur??
