Not positive but may be same as 336 but without Marlin script?
Search shows that CITYSLICKER1 had/has one. Maybe contact him for a photo?

There's a photo in Brophy's book that shows a black plate without Marlin on it. Exactly the same otherwise.

A pic would help but I'm assuming it would be like the Marlin but smooth where the Marlin has it's name embossed in the oval area. Gotta find what's correct for my 36G. Thanks for the help guy's.

Mine says Marlin and is just like my 1964 336 buttplate.

I'm sure the one for the Glenfield 36G won't say Marlin on it. I'm just trying to get a look at what lines or oval design is correct.

I don't really know if mine is original or not, but going by the condition of the rifle (very good) I always assumed that the buttplate was original. The Glenfield 36 that I own is also an early model so they may have changed them when they started putting birch stocks on them.

Can someone put up a pic of a 36G? My friend just got one in his shop, birch with typical Glenfield type engraved instead of checkered birch with a pad. The gun looks reblued to me. That is why I want to see a pic or two. This is a 1965 model with AA prefix. It is weird in that is has Marlin in large script and then has Glenfield Manufacturing Company or similar in smaller block letters.
