    4 Glenfields...

My brother came to sty this weekend and we spent a little time at the range with 4 Glenfield rifles we purchased recently. Although we are both 35 Remington fans, and really haven't hunted with 30-30's in recent years, we now both own 2. We did some scope mounting and took them to the range and dialed them in with my 170 gr Speer handload using 30.7 gr of H-4895 and a CCI-200 primer. I didn't get any range picture, but all 4 guns shot real well, and we got them sighted in at 100 yards. Groups all averaged under 2".

Here is a picture of the 4. He has a 1972 30A and a 1980 30 GT. I have a 1976 30A and a 1983 30A. From top to bottom they are the 1972, 1976, 1980, and 1983. Johnny Loco would have been proud to see 2 35 Remington boys at the range shooting 30-30's.

I'd like to find a GT, as well. He just lucked into that one and picked it up for $250.

Beautiful guns there. I have a 1975 Glenfield 30A and I have to say that although the birch stocks are less desireable than the walnut, I've always thought the checking on my gun looked good. Thanks for sharing the picture.

Beautiful guns plus you got time to spend with your brother. Sounds like you had an awesome weekend. I am envious...I need to drag my brothers butt out of kalifornia and back to ohio.
