    Glenfield/JES rebore 38-55...

Just got my Glenfield 30A ( 1978 ) back from JES Reboring. It left here as a 30-30 and came back marked "38-55" but he said I will be able to use either 375 Win or 38-55. It will stay at 20" for now but I will probably cut it back to 16.5 eventually. I will get it to the range next week. The only bullets I have right now are Sierra 200gr. JFP which I will try with H4198. I'll get some heavier cast when I can. I'll give an update on how it shoots. It will go nicely with my other JES rebores, a 356 and a 444. Never say you guys aren't enablers!

That's supposed to be 1978 model.

I'm especially fond of my K-Mart TK rebored to .38-55/.375 Win. Removing all that steel from the barrel and chamber made it noticeably lighter.

I think I have a pic of yours. That's one of them that made me want one so bad.

Yeh, that's it. And thanks Scorpiusb for fixing the title- I couldn't figure out how to do it.

    Dang! That's great.

I've thought so many times about a re-bore for my Glenfield 30-30... But I like it an awful lot just the way it is...

Congrats on another nice one. Let us know how it does at the range will you?

    Regards, Guy

I like JES Rebores. Mine has a few miles of being carried in its life time as a 30-30 before the transformation to 38-55.
