    Lever speed loader

    Dear all,

I found this forum a while ago while searching for a lever speed loader, prior to getting my first marlin infact.

This is the thread that I found.
    https://www.marlinowners.com/forum/18...ed-loader.html

I have had a couple of cracks at making one as suggested, but have had some set backs, and am not sure the materials I have been using feel that secure for trying to get 8 (or 9?) 38 special rounds into my 1894.

Has anyone seen anything similar to this for sale anywhere, factory produced? Or shall I persist with DYI, although I fear it is a waste of good shooting time.

Any help greatly appreciated. (PS if I am in the wrong forum, let me know)

I don't know of any, Bally.

I'm not sure of the need for a speed loader for my 1894. I'm guessing I can reload it by the time I implemented the speed loader or darn close.

Keep us up on your project, though. It sounds very interesting.

There have been a number of shooters who have made speed loaders in brass or PVC. Most of these devices work to some degree. I don't think anyone makes one commercially altho I have seen shotgun reloaders used in various competitions on TV programs.

    Good luck on your project.

Thanks for having a look guys, If I get a result I am happy with, I will post pictures.
Reason I am looking at this is in Australia I can't use semi autos in IPSC rifle, and I am up against pump action rifles, and I was hoping for something that might match a mag change, but Tatersoup might have a point, and I can probably reload on the run to an extent. I was looking to have both options available to me :-)

Thanks again to all those that looked, and you two for the responses

    Cheers

I imagine it would take a lot of practice to get good with one of those speed loaders. There must be too many zombies around you if you need one, lol.

I for one have no need for one. I know there are some out there made by guys like yourself. If you set your mind to it I'll bet you can do a darn nice job at making one yourself. I hope you try and when you get it finished I hope you will post it so we all can see.

Enjoy the journey and then reap the harvest.
