    1894 Extraction Problem

I have an 1894 in 44 it is a pre-safety model. It will not remove a spent nor unfired cartrige from the chamber except every 1 in 20 tries. I believe the extractor needs replacement. There i no spring on the extractor in any form. The end of the extractor is like a small tube with an eye where the pin holds it in the bolt and the arm extends forward from there. Any suggestions? Does anyone know where to get a new one??

I would look at Brownells or Midway or another such site. I was able to get some odds and ends parts in the past for my 1894.

Here is a link for the schematic at Brownells (although it's the modern one): 1894 (SS / C / P / CP / CBC / CB) | World's Largest Supplier of Firearm Accessories, Gun Parts and Gunsmithing Tools - BROWNELLS

Click the "View All Available SKUs" to find the Brownell's part #.

You can also call Brownells. Their customer service is very good in situations like this.

    Brad,

There's a trick to it, sort of. Look up the part number in the owner's manual and do a search for THAT on Brownell's or elsewhere. I bet it pops up.

We have them at Jack First inc. Call and talk to the girls up front as there are a couple options. From your description I believe we have the one you need.
