I was able to spend a nice afternoon at the range after my CSS arrived at my dealer this morning. I didn't know what to expect, and have to say that fit/finish is excellent. Thanks to the great members on this forum I was able to do a cleaning takedown without drama. I did a clean/lube with Eezox which I've grown to really like because it dries to a film that is very slick. I installed a EGW rail so that I can use a 1.5X5 scope in QR rings or a small red dot. For this afternoon I had the red dot in place and we were all making hits from 25 to 120 yards. The 120 yds was a second berm behind the 100 and we were popping all rocks offhand without fail which with a 50 yd zero isn't bad.  This is a quick set up and everyone wanted to borrow it for the evening hunt. I had a mix of old 357 and the little Marlin fed everything without fail even with us holding it at odd angles when cycling the bolt. The trigger is crisp, but heavy and will have to be dealt with soon. It shot within a 5" circle at 50 yds with the red dot, and we will see what it will do with the scope next outing. Couldn't be more pleased. Regards

Thanks! The main reason for my post was to balance the scales somewhat by giving credit to Marlin for delivering a well done example where the quality we all expect was evident. Often the mistakes are the only ones we hear about. Regards
