I am thinking of getting a Burris Timberline for my GG. Couple of questions:
1. Can anyone share pics of their Burris on a 1895?
2. What mounts are recommended, considering the generous 5 - 3.75 eye relief?
3. Is it possible to somehow mount this scope with BUIS? Any pics? I don't think so but I thought I'd ask just in case...

a Timberline 3-9x40 at $119  ? That's a pretty darn good deal!  I was checking the 2-7x40. But, this is too good a deal to ignore. |

Don't ask me anything about this one,it is my sons he just got but I really like the 2-7X Timberline on it..On my Guide Gun I use Warne two piece bases with QD rings..Don't have a clue to these.  Jayco |

Checked the Warne Maxima Quick Detach. I like them. What model should work best? They range from low to ultra-high. My gut tells me high is the the sweet spot.

civilian75, it's 3-9x32, not 40. Still an outstanding deal, and I prefer smaller scopes on leverguns. The big scopes are....too big. Dan

I took a picture of my Leupold VX-3..1.75-6X on my Guide Gun for comparison.The little Burris Timberline looks like a better fit.Scroll down. The VX-3/1.75-6X on my Guide Gun with Warne bases and QR rings Medium height..  The Timberline 2-7X. Jayco |

Here's my 45/70 Marlin with the Leupold 2x7 in Redfield mount and rings. Notice that I can move it even farther to the rear if needed. Currently there is about 4" eye relief.  |

The thing I like about the QR rings is this little bugger.You can take off your scope and put this on in less than a minute remaining at zero and I have the front firesight to go with it should anything happen to the scope or I want to go open sighted.  Jayco |

This is a XS Sights Low Weaver Backup rear sight. Your pic is from Brownells. I don't need to remove the factory rear sight; just flip it down.  |

Yeah..You can see mine folded down with the Leupold scope/Medium height QR rings..The bad thing to watch for is I can't find the ladder now.When Alzeimers hits us old farts, things disappear.  I really wanted an XS type front sight but I have the ported Guide Gun and they don't make the thin ones anymore so I have to use the firesight which is a .290 Narrow if memory serves me this AM.The 1.75-6X Leupold at low power shoes the front sights that are an irratent to me so I have to crank up the power not to see it in the picture.. I sure like that Burris Timberline though.I offered to trade my son my extra 2-7X Leupold for his Timberline but he won't trade.  Jayco |

I have another hobby on the side: Photoshop stuff . I wanted to have an idea how my Millet 1-4x32 with a AR flat top mount would look on top of my Marlin, and this is what came out. Now I can safely say this is NOT what I want on my Marlin. Thought I'd share just for fun... BTW, the Millet was photoshopped to the Burris 2x7x32 lenght   |

My avitar is a Burris 2x7 shortmag which was what the timberline was called when they were made in the good old USA. I used Leupold quick release rings on a weaver base. With that combo you can use the factory sights. I have used it on a 338ME and a 45-70, the rig holds up well.
