Marlin Model 336CB 30-30

I posted a topic on the 336 forum prior to noticing that there was a cowboy rifle forum.  So if anyone is reading this for the second time, sorry.  I am purchasing a 336CB in 30-30 and I am having a hard time finding production numbers for that rifle.  I have found out the years that they were produced, but can not find out how many in those few years.  I have heard 500... I have heard 1,000.... do either of those numbers sound right?  Thanks for your help.

 Don't know if any production total is available as of yet. I do suspect more the 1000 were made though.

Why is it so hard to find production totals even though the rifle has been discontinued for almost 10 years?  You would think that would be something that Marlin would release quickly to keep interest in the collector market going strong.  I am picking up my new (lightly used) rifle tomorrow, and I can not wait.

I can't remember where I read this anymore, but I believe Marlin made around 3500 30-30 CB's over a production period of three years. I have one of them.

Thanks for the info Vic.  I picked up the rifle today and I can not wait to shoot it.  I also found two 1894 limited edition rifles at a gun shop, but did not ask any questions.  One was .45 and one was .357... are these part of the new limited production of the 1894?  Does anyone know what calibers the new production is offered in?  I tried to find the info, but again could not.

You will certainly enjoy your 30-30 CB. They are quite accurate and a pleasure to carry. I am patiently watching (and waiting) for a 357 CB w/24" barrel. Several years ago I had a chance at either of two 44 mag CB's with 24" barrels and didn't grab one. Thinking I made a mistake back then, but...............

A 336 CB is probably the perfect rifle if you could only have one.  Inexpensive to shoot, accurate and beautiful.  Plenty effective on critters...
