School me on the Mountie
«

Newbie here.
Can someone school me on the reason for the grip style on the Mountie?
I don't recall having fired a weapon with a straight "grip" like the Mountie. I see that it is the same style as the 1894.
Is this more about aesthetics than function?
Thanks

Don't rightly know but they sold well, just my opine but at the time Winchester did not have a .22 that looked like the model 94 or 92 that made the west famous.
That sold a lot of them.
I like straight grip and have converted many pistol gripped guns to straight including the 39A, 336 and pretty soon a 336A.
