After my club membership approval next week I plan to spend some quality time at the range with my new-to-me 39a.  I took the NRA basic shotgun and basic pistol courses this summer but won't get to take the rifle course until next year.  So I am looking for some instruction on safe handling of the 39a.  Things like unloading, decocking, using the half-cock, etc.  I have picked up some bits and pieces reading this forum but a consolidated tutorial on the safe handling of the 39a would be really helpful.  I also want to introduce my 19 yo son to this gun when he is home from college for Thanksgiving.

TIA for any help.

Sorry, don't have much time right now. But here's a link to the older Marlin 39A owners manual, it contains a few of the answers and info you are looking for.

This is the pre Crossbolt Safety manual

Thanks for that link, it helps.  I had the CBS version of the manual which does not address the half-cock safety.  With the dummy rounds that came yesterday I can now mess around with it without creating any unintended ventilation in the shop walls.
