Hey guys, I recently bought a box of thye hornady LE ammo to try in my 45-70 marlin guide gun and I am experiencing that the last round in the mag tube gets stuck and jams up the action and lever....What gives, and how can I remedy this and have any of ya'll experience the same thing as I have? Do I have to replace the follower I think I read on the box of LE ammo that for it to function properly the magazine follower needs replacement, what do you guys think? Any info you can give me will be appreciated. Thanks.

Here it is, although it's orange in the picture, the new version which is red is the one you'll get.

I believe the indention in the follower is different. This lets the LE ammo feed properly, & not feed at an angle.   444

The new ones are concave on the face to keep the gummy tips from sliding off & jamming between the follower & tube.

The current concave follower is desiged to help in LOADING the FIRST LE cartridge into the tube. It will not have any affect on the cartridges feeding out of the tube and onto thew carrier.

l suggest you disassemble the rifle and make certain there are NO burrs in the mag tube hole in the receiver. Clean the inside of the tube, stretch the mag spring 2"-3" being sure to stretch it evenly, and re-assemble the rifle.

I think the problem will be gone.

If your not having loading that 1st LE round into the rifl, you don't need to change followers.

Let me know if all this helps you.

Thanks Tom, Is there a link that shows how to take apart the gun to get to the mag tube for cleaning?
