Does it have really mis-matched wood or is it just me or the lighting? It seems the fore-end is a very different color from the buttstock.
Maybe the buttstock was refinished? 
It may be a rare variant, but I certainly would not pay that kind of money for it.  But to each their own.

Even at them kind of prices, my 39 Century Ltd isn't for sale.

Will be hitting the range with it tomorrow to see how it likes shooting at paper chickens to start practicing for some cowboy lever action silhouette I want to start doing. That price is nuts though. Wish I could find me a spare Century Ltd medallion somewhere. The one that mounts on the receiver. The one from this rifle is long gone. Dunno where Dad lost it when he owned the gun.

Am thinking I need to order me a spare barrel from NUmrich while I can too. Might need one for a project gun someday down the road when I want a second octagon barreled 39.   Thanks for posting the link.

I suspect that a mistake has been made on the buyers standpoint.   Either that, or it is a testimony to not drinking and bidding!

I was bidding on one a year ago and stopped at 725.00 ... now i am sorry i stopped...

I will just keep looking sooner or later opertunity will present it self.
