Now that I found I cannot use the peep sight on my 39A, I would like to scope it instead to help these old eyes.  Shocked.
I already have a Nikon Prostaff on my 10/22 and think it is great. I have been reading about the Weaver 4X, but really have no experience with it.
Can anyone give me any insight to a good rimfire scope that will not break the wallet?
I am only using the lever action for plinking and a squirrel or small pesky critters.
I will also need a set of mounts to go on the rail that came with the 39A. Any suggestions there as well?

You might want  to look at Bushnell rimfire they have a 4x and 3x9 varrable. I have the 3x9 on mine and its very good clear class and when I use the varable it doesn't change POI that I have found. The price runs 39.00 to 44.00.

Got a good deal at the planet for a nice Demo Nikon ProStaff 4X.
Mounted a Bushnell on it today to play around for a while and surprising enough it worked great at the 4X. Rest of the powers seemed a bit fuzzy. I wanted a new scope any way.
I will be able to use the Weaver mounts I had on the Bushnell, so I save there.

You don't mention what era your 39A is but, if it's an older one, why not consider a Weaver 4X from the same era? I see them for next to nothing all the time at gunshows?

Deal is already done and scope is mounted and doing great. I have a brand new in box 39A. I guess it's fitting that I have a new in box Nikon ProStaff to go on it too!  Grin
