I usually stay abreast of new guns in areas that intrest me .

And Savage bolt action rifled barrel sluggers intrest me !

However I knew nothing of the 220F until I read the thread you started on this !

Now when something like this comes out I kinda have a knack for worrying the distributers until they send me what I want just to shut me up  Grin

FWIW , I used the new Savage 220F loaded with a Remington AccuTip sabot slug and busted a yearling doe at 120 yards 11/30/09 . Deer went maybe 20 yards after the shot and dropped dead !

I own the 210, and it shot a 1 inch group at 100 yards with Winchesters(awesome slug gun)
It also downed 2 deer this season for me, 1 at 30 yds and 1 at 20 feet(she kept coming closer
to my treestand)

The 220 has a detachable mag.... that seems like a nice option...

Yeah I kinda like the detachable mag also !
Wish the 210F had the same thing .
I think after hunting season I may order an additional magazine or two for the 220F .

Incidently the 210F and the 220F are scheduled for a trip to the Chincoteague National Wildlife Refuge for a two day hunt on 1/7&8/2010 !

It's my plan to carry the 220F and let one of my buds use the 210F . The 220F shoots the REM AccuTip and the Hornady SST to the same POI and I'll have both with me on this trip ! The 210F shoots the same two in the 12 gauge as well as the WIN XP3 to the same POI at 100 yards also . So we'll have all those slugs with us in hopes of giving them all a try on Sika deer !

Well good luck!!!!

I have to say the 210 has been very impressive......
Also I've been using slugs for deer for the last 2 seasons
and they are hard hitting either 12 or 20. I used a 20
last year and the deer went all of 20 yards...This year I
used the 210 and was 2 for 2....

I've been very pleased with my Savage's not only the 210F and 220F but also my Savage 10ML-II 50 caliber !

In my own personal opinion all Savage needs to do is keep the 210F in production and bring the 10ML-II out in 45 calber !

I would certainly purchase a Savage 10ML-II 45 caliber !
