Hey Y'all
I'm thinking I may need to look at replacing my .357 due to accuracy issues with cast bullets.
I'm thinking I'd like to get one gun for both 100 and 200 yd comps and still stay with what our leveraction comp classes as "classic calibre", ie a pre 1936 factory chambered calibre.
I'm thinking 44-40 or 45 LC, as these are readily available rifles in Oz.
Any thoughts on which would be better and why?

I'd go with the 44/40.You could use 8.5 grs. of Unique with a 200 gr. bullet for the 100 yd pistol cartridge, the chickens and pigs in the lever action center fire. Then a little heavier load for the turkey's and rams.Maybe with out changing your sight setting. The same could probably be done with the 45 colt but I don't have much experiance wth it though. My 2 cents.
