ArrowDodger's powerpoint presentation is the very best account of how to disassenble/assemble a Marlin model 60 action. He and his daughter did a wonderful job on it and I doubt if it will be equaled any time soon.

I would like to thank you for putting this together. I had need to replace the feedthroat on my Model 60, and the instructions made it a breeze to do. It took me all of maybe 15 minutes to perform the part change. Thanks!

Well I was itching to work on my 1985 model 60 trigger and so I took it apart. Now the problem is that the two halves won't join together. Every time I try to squeeze them together the cartridge lifter will come off or if I press the part near the buffer the rest of it comes off. Is the right way to do this a vice? Can somebody help me with a few tips or I'm going to be without the rabbit getter this weekend. The friendly gunsmith I know has been laughing his head off ever since. Regards, Katana

my thanks to ArrowDodger for this info! Had to replace a broken buffer on my old Model 60, and this presentation made it a snap!
and, while I had it apart, I honed the sear, which has made the trigger action a bit crisper!
