Junkie, The fellow who was cookin up that mess of squirrels didn't he have more than the limit on the bed of that thar truck bed? Some states are 5 and total of 10 in possesion . Pa is 6 a day.. I'm moving to Austin, Texas area and think I'm going to like it just fine!!!! Per TX Parks & Wildlife: Squirrel - No closed season. No bag limit. ......(At least in the counties around Austin) firstshot -------------------------------- Make your first shot count!

I have trouble understanding why there is no squirrel season here in Washington state. Hunted them in California, Virginia and Maryland as Uncle Sam moved me from place to place... Plenty of squirrels here in the woods, but no hunting for them. Do varmints, grouse and rabbits count? OH but they do. read below The Eastern gray squirrel and Eastern fox squirrel are unclassified and may be trapped or killed year-round and no permit is necessary. In such cases, no special trapping permit is necessary for the use of live traps. However, a special trapping permit is required for the use of all traps other than live traps (RCW 77.15.192, 77.15.194; WAC 232-12-142). taken from the washington state regs. Western greys are protected but eastern grays and fox shoot them up.

KNOTTYBUMPO AND I got out into wis. last feb. and got a little rabbit hunting in. the farmer/landowner took us on a rabbit hunt on all the farms he and his brother owned. he has plenty rabbits for sure and that was on a really cold day when most rabbits were holed up. all the rabbits were taken with 20 ga. shotguns and jump shooting with out dogs.

Back in the end of may this year, i attended an invitational squirrel hunt on the western edge of missoura over by the truman res. most of the folks that attended were at the shawnee hunt the previous fall. i drove somewhere close to 1200 miles round trip to kill a total of 1 whole squirrel! BUT.....it was a really intelligent and crafty squirrel! That made the whole trip worth it. actually, seeing all the guys again and playing music till the wee hours of the morning made it worth it! here are a few of the picture from that event. group photo of all the hunters. our host .22man. he is a squirrel getter too! .22man again with an unusual colored fox squirrel he took on the last morning. luck!

Spent a little quality time with my Marlin 39A this weekend. I missed three and one got caught in the tree when he fell so I bagged four. It was a sweet hole. If I had used the shotgun I could have cleaned up! It's all about being there though. Took my Winchester 94 along and carried it while my buddy and I made some blinds, scouted, and moved a stand. It is a joy to carry with plenty of power. Saw numerous deer including a sho nuff buck. Saw a bear with a little cub and a lot of hog sign. This year is shaping up real good. Caught three big catfish jugging in the evening so we had fish for dinner last night. Good weekend.

Once again I'm jealous. Prime huntin' time has been spent in the city, in my den, in front of the computer srewing off while ostensibly doing my homework. That's a fine pile of squirrels there Mr. Chitlin, looks like you and your son had a great time.

Went again this morning, got in the woods at 7:30 AM, way too late, and ended up with 16 by 10:15. My son was using his 17VS, I used a 10/22. Temps were in the mid 50's when we hit the woods. Saw lots of squirrels, quite a few deer including 1 large 8 point, turkeys, groundhogs and tons of other stuff. All in all a good day to be in the woods.
