Wagon wheel deck rail...weekend project. pics

Found the wheel in the woods when I was scouting deer trails. Carried it back to camp, heavy SOB!
It's 4'x4'. Not sure how old it is, certainly older than me!
Ripped a eastern red cedar log in half with chainsaw & ripping chain.
Primed and painted wheel. Hung copper cups for the "Chuck wagon" look. Rustic and functional.
My wife hates it, good thing it's not her camp!

Looks good to me, ask her what she thinks of making it into a chandelier.

Women just don't like old things they cannot paint with color crayon 9-100 when all of us men need is the basic 1-8s we got in the 1st grade.

I tell my wife if it is not in 1-8 then I'm in the wrong bar.

My lady was against me bringing home an antique curio cabinet that has been in the family since 1960, she went to her daughters place I went and to my brothers and brought it home. She cleaned on it all day and made room to put it and her fine china in the kitchen, she likes it now. She won't tell her friends she was against it.

Yours will learn to like that little piece of free, fine art in time.

Great find. Odd thing to find out in the woods though. If I happen across one for free or reasonable price, might hang Marlins all over it .DT

    Cool old wagon wheel.

I bet it could tell you some interesting stories!

Looks good! I like your lamps hanging from the header behind it as well. Do they work? (If not places like Lehmans used to have parts in stock.) Had to go back and look at you camp pictures again, looks like a place to unwind, and be proud of .
