    Greetings from Seattle

Howdy folks - thx for all the great info. As a newby to lever guns this site has been very helpful. I grew up bird hunting, but never owned - or shot - a modern rifle until this past fall (my bro's 338 WinMag). Two weeks later I had a Marlin 45-70 lever gun in-hand, and then got a 336 in 30-30 for Xmas. I'm not sure what is happening to me... John

Welcome to the MO forum. Lots of great folks here who really like to share their knowledge. You found a new place to hangout.

BTW, it's called 'marlinitis' and your symptoms are starting... :-D

    Welcome. That's an excellant start with a 30-30 and a 45-70, now you need a mod 39 and maybe a .35.

By God jb, welcome form the east side. Always a pleasure to meet a normal person from the "other" side.

Thx gentlemen. I think this is going to be a lot of fun. It is so odd - I have a couple shotguns but I've never had this 'urge' to acquire another. Now I know what salmon go through. The new 338 mx sounds quite appealing, but I better learn to shoot what I already have.

Eli, I have gone bird & black powder deer hunting around Cheney with my brother. I'm trying my best to get him hooked on Marlins too - so I have someone to go modern rifle deer hunting with.

You get your brother perusing this place and he'll get it. If that doesn't wwork, next time you're over, bring your rifle.

I reckon a 308MX would be perfect for that country.
