What power scopes do you use on your 223 Rem. target or varmint rifles??

    I have a Remington 700 BDL 223 Rem. with a Leupold VX-II 4-12x40mm AO Scope.

I'm just curious to see what power scopes you guys and gals are using on your 223 Rem. (or similar cartridge) target or varmint rifles?

    Thanks, NYH1.

Leupold VXII 6x18 AO on a Rem 700 SS 223rem. Rem M700 ADL 222 rem has a Leupold VXII 6x18 and a VXII 4 x 12 AO on a Rem Model 7 in 223 rem. I swap the 6x18 between the 222 and a heavy barreled 700 223 every few years for a change. I'd like to wack a few groundswine with the ol 222 this coming year. I like the 222 cartridge and love the Leupolds.

I have a mil spec aimpoint with a 4MOA dot. With it I can shoot a 4" group at 200 yds. It seems to work just fine for hog and deer plus target shooting. If you want to simplify and declutter your hunting experience a good aimpoint can go a long way to simplifying your experience. I have seen them on bolt actions and they are "fun" if you know what I mean.

    I use a fixed 12x Leupold on my .204 Ruger/CZ 527:

My oldest son uses a 6.5-20x I gave him on his .223 Bushmaster varmint rifle (24" barrel):

Youngest son uses a 3.5-10x Leupold on his 6mm Rem. Yes, there was a rockchuck looking out from under that rock before the 75 gr hollowpoint obliterated him. John uses that same rifle for varmints, coyotes and mule deer hunting.

I use a Bushnell 4200 Elite 6-24 with 1" tube on my Savage Model 10 Predator Hunter. I really like the Burris Signature rings with the plastic inserts that do away with a need to lap rings.
