Here's a big thanks to the original poster, what a generous fellow.
And he only has 1 thank you to his name.
Thanks for helping out so many Knifemaker!
Thank you all for your kind words and understanding. Well I installed the skinner last week and then went for a quick test run Monday. Keep in mind I only had time for a brief and casual range session. I went to NE Arkansas to attend a friend's son's HS graduation, so I was out in rural farm country with wide-open spaces. My 'range' was the edge of a rice field with a dirt berm for a backstop. I marked off 50 yds with laser range finder and set up a target. This was my first time to shoot my new to me marlin, as well...it was FUN. The reason I only went 50 yds was to make sure I hit paper as time was my enemy.
Couple observations: LOVE how the skinner sits on the receiver, looks like it belongs there. My shots were about 12-14 inches high and about 1 inch right of center, would I need a new front sight? ( haven't had time to research this question yet). Installation was easy and straightforward. Love the peep in general and am pretty sure it will work with my vision challenges(I am nearsighted and developing presbyopia and wear bifocals). Getting dialed in will take more shooting (tapping on the dovetail for wind age and probably a new front post/filing for elevation) in the future after I purchase my own Skinner. In short, I REALLY like it.
Who is next in line, I was a little unsure if night wasp still wanted a go or did he pass on to the next in line?

yeah nightwasp was before me i will see if he still wants it
sounds good.
any word on the sight anyone?
Okay guys .... I've tried this sight and it is excellent. I'll be ordering one soon ... now, I gotta tell ya, you have to take into account that your front sight is probably going to be a little high for these peeps and adjust accordingly, but I got the feel of the sight during the load period and it is a well built, well machined set of peeps. It'll be great once I get one of mine own and I decide what to do with the front post. (lowering it somehow)
We're going to be shooting it one last time next weekend - a couple of buddies of mine wanted to try it before I send it out to the next member ... so whoever is next, let me know so I'll know who to send it to in about a week from tonight, 26 August 2012.
Night Wasp ... are you next? No, wait, Papa Smurf correct?
