    39a early model?

Hey all, first post here. On Saturday I picked up a 1950 39a. The gun is astounding, and the accuracy blows my 10/22 away. But... It does have a broken cartridge guide spring. I need to order it, but I don't know if my rifle is a early or late model. What are the dates that categorize which model is which?

I'm not sure of which dates, but I would categorize a 1950 model as early. I have a 1947 and 1982 model and I don't see much of a difference between the two guide springs. They look identical.

Very nice! Some really good looking wood. And welcome to the forum. If this is your first Marlin we're betting it won't be your last. Anytime you need info or good advice you know where to come.
