As I've mentioned in earlier posts, I picked this up at WalMart a couple weeks ago for $167 and have fired about 300 rounds through it, with no issues whatsoever. I won't give it a review here - this is just so those wondering what a new 60 looks like. Judge the quality, or lack thereof, for yourself.
For the record, this Model 60 is nicer than the brand new Ruger Mark III pistol I just bought, which does have a couple issues. And if you look at the Ruger forums, they have lots of quality control issues as well - so this new "Marlin" hating isn't exclusive just to this forum. Anyway, I'm a Marlin lover, and I feel the rifle pictured here, while not 100% perfect, is easily on par with what I've seen of Marlin 60's in the past.
Enough of my talking - enjoy some pics.
The last of the pics...
What's going on with the rear sight?

Hey, you can't say that in America!
As I said in the post - have a look and judge for yourself. You can look at the good, or the bad. I'm not here to commend or fault Marlin.
Now as for the sightIt looks odd in the pic. It's adjusted to the left for windage - the height tab looks crooked, but of course, it's not secured in the barrel anyway.
Where the sight is attached to the barrel is dead on. I measured exactly 1 cm from each side of the stock to the welded on tab. The rear sight itself might be slightly cocked, but that's no biggee to me.
Anyway, it's got a Barksa 3-9x x 30 scope on it now. Gonna go sight it in today.

Nice gun, congrats!!
Well, good to see you have been acting on that case of GAS you spoke of...Nice rifle, and a great photo layout. It looks pretty good.
Thanks for sharing.

Thanks all. I went to the outdoor range and tossed about 300 more Federal bulk at some targets. Ate the hole out of a few bullseyes with the new scope.
Also been checking out an old 39 lever that a local seller is letting go for a nice price. I just can't seem to talk the wife into it.
