great buy. I really like your idea of giving your son the gun with the parts so he can build it himself.
Here's the rifle with the scope mounted. The rifle looks MUCH better than the pictures show. My 10 year old digital camera is just about dead and takes crappy pictures.
So. Any recommendations on how to touch up the scratches on the receiver and the stock? I don't want to totally strip the stock right now. Too many other projects needing my time.
That looks like a really nice rifle. Waiting for one to show up locally. Don't ask me why, but I like the Glenfield "Animal" stocks!
Nice find! Pawn shops around here charge more than new prices and dont care to deal.

If the receiver is aluminum, you can touch it up with a sharpie![]()
Costco should sell bullets in those bins, like walnuts. Or you could buy two five gallon buckets of bullets, shrink-wrapped together.

From the standpoint of chemistry, technically alcohol *is* a solution.
batjac, to touch up the reciever clean with alcohol then use a black permanet marker. Be careful not to put marker on an area not needing it. You'll be able to see the touch up.

Good job, son will love it. Maybe you should have offered $55

For all you guys that have shot one of these before how are they? I have seen them around but never really gave them a second look. Now I'm wanting a 22 for messin around with and teaching the kids to shoot. That rifle looks just fine the way it is to me.
