Marlin 39A Stock and Forearm Question

HI--I own 2 Marlin 39A's: one is a 1952 model "Fixer Upper" & the other is a 2007. I'm also a new forum member, so I hope I'm asking these questions in the right place.

The 1952 rifle needs a new stock and forearm (the original owner cut off approx. 2 inches off the stock & the rifle has no forearm). The 2007 new style stock will not fit the 1952 model. The tang inlet is a lot shorter on the 1952 rifle.

I guess I have several questions:

What year did the frame/tang change from the old style to the new style?

Does anyone know where I can find a 1952 old style stock and forearm?

Can the new style stock be modified to fit the 1952 rifle?

Thanks in advance. I only paid $100 for the 1952 rifle. I removed the rust outside & the bore is great.

    SEMPER FI!!

    stocks

I was looking around yesterday on Bob's gun parts and Numunrich (that is not spelled correctly). I saw stocks and forearms their. Contact them and ask. They may be able to help and you can order at the same time. Good luck.

The forestock was probably the "fishbelly" type. I have one; it's the middle one in this picture.

DRSLYR, I see Doc may be able to help with the older stock. I do not believe new will interchange with the old. Someone with more experience than me will be able to help. Chat with Doc. on it.

I found a forearm, but I still need a stock. Do you have one? Thanks for the reply!
