sling suggestions on a lever action

i honestly do not have a marlin. my dad and brother shoot marlins and love them but i have a henry.i bought it at a gun show with the big loop on it. put on a bsa sweet 3-9 scope with the trajectory adjustments and leupold see thru rings. now it is a squirrel killin machine. however, i am tired of toting it everywhere and having to set it down everytime i climb a fence. any suggestions on the best way to put a sling on it? i would have joined a henry forum, but the marlin forum was a whole lot better.

The Henry is a dangerous gateway drug, er rifle I mean. It will lead to a much more expensive habit, especially if you hang around here. You can pick up some sling swivels at the local gunshop or even walmart. As for the sling, that is your choice, But I prefer leather slings on my lever guns, it just looks right.

I agree a leather sling looks so right on a lever gun.

You can either get a Cuff and a sling that allow you to put it on without drilling, or put a forward tube clamp/cuff combo, or drill and tap the stock and at a clamp up front! I agree with them though, leather does look right

^^ imho the guy above is your guy for leather slings and cuffs. Eaglestroker has done some for me and its first class. Sure there are others but robs work is as good as they come.

Leather does fit the rifle well but the smaller nylon "mountain slings" are very effective. Remember the gun is meant to be a lightweight. I put a 12 dollar blackhawk on and it works great.

Remember not to climb over fences with the fire arm slung on your shoulder! Safty First.
