    39A "NRA" commemorative ???

Question: Did Marlin or the NRA have a Golden 39A "NRA" commemorative produced ? I seen one at a local gun shop. It looks like a standard Marlin Golden 39A model with a round barrel, gold trigger, black plastic buttplate etc. except it has a round "NRA" medallion attached to the right side of the receiver. The medallion is approx. 1 inch in diameter and looks to be made of brass. It has red and black coloring and is marked: "NATIONAL RIFLE ASSOCIATION with the eagle and a 1871 date. The serial number of this rifle is: AA217XX. I think it was manufactured in 1965. This must be a very rare model, I can not find any reference to such a rifle. Has anyone else ever seen one like this ? Your thoughts.

The one I am talking about is not the NRA 2nd Amendment " Article II" model because they had hexagonal barrels, brass butt plates, brass forestock caps etc. The one I saw has none of these features, just the NRA logo medallion on the right side of the receiver.
