Picked up a Limited Edition Model 6079 yesterday it was quite rough on the exterior, but the barrel was squeaky clean, so I paid the asking price ($50 + a brick of CCI's) I can find precious little information online about this model, it is odd in that all the information I can find on Model 60's indicate a Last Shot Hold Open, which the 6079 certainly does NOT have.
I took it all apart last night and found plenty of evidence, in the way of marred screw heads, that it has been disassembled many many times. and was really pretty squeaky clean inside, but the outside was as I said pretty poor. I would be inclined to think that based upon the internal and external condition, it was well used and well cared for...

I had hoped to give it to my daughter to shoot but the stock is too long and the comb too low, and it a bit too heavy for her, but I just may keep it for myself...
I gave it a real good bath and oiled it all up nicely, and will be dropping some nice glass on it in place of the POS scope that is on it right now, and see how well it groups.
Any words of advice, encouragement, or dire warnings?
I'd say you got a helluva deal on that! Use her and take good care of her and she will not fail you.

Its a model 60 made in '79, hence 6079. The last shot hold feature wasn't available until '84 I think. As far as the stock goes, check out Boyds gun stocks. They have stocks with a raised cheekpiece and also offer thumbhole stocks. $50 is a heckuva deal.

I've tried searches with various input strings and I cannot find a "YOUTH" stock for it, but really didn't find anything appropriate.
Any suggestions, before I lop off the last few inches of the butt-stock and glue it to the comb.

What? How exactly would that work? Sorry my imagination isn't working right now and don't see how glueing it to the stock will fill your needs. How old is your daughter? Also remember that as she gets older, she will outgrow the cut stock and you will have to replace it.
