I have the inside line on a Marlin Model 99 M-1, tube fed 9 shot capacity. Gun is in good condition overall. It is topped with a WesternField 4x20 scope.
Will be around 125.00 in price, good, average, or great price?
Thanks all for any information.
I paid $150.00 for the one I bought last month. Does the one your looking at have the factory rear sight still? If not, they are hard to find.
It should be worth that as a shooter. But like Marc said the factory rear sight alone can run $50-75 if you can even locate one.
No rear sight with the gun. Hope to pick it up mid-week. Have started my search for a rear sight, have one inquiry out already, but not hopeful that they still have it.
Even without the rear sight, they are neat little fun rifles with a decent scope or after market sight. And in my opinion the walnut stock and hand guard puts the M1 and M2 a notch or two above a standard model 60 and 70 in eye appeal.Plus a certain nostalgic property for this old tunnel rat.
Here's a picture of mine, they are worth $200 each to me and are not for sale.
Those are beauts, I'll have to really keep my eyes open for an M2 version now.
I got good news this morning, the rear sight I located is available, so I'll be making arrangements for that as well, a bit steep at $75.00 but overall $200.00 for the gun and sight will be well worth the price. Endless fun to be had soon...
I bought mine about a month ago for $150 with the rear sight.
Even better news.... well somewhat, still arranging a time and date to pick the rifle up. The really good news is that I have not purchased the rear sight at a cost of $75.00.
I just recieved word from another person who I inquired about the rear sight and they still have it and the best part cost is only $20.00 plus $5.00 to $10.00 for shipping yet to be determined.
That is good deal for the sight. Even if you don't use it, it will be nice to have.
Someone is working on Reproducing those originals at a reasonable cost...I'll keep y'all updated
A firearm should be a tool in the hands of a deadly weapon, not a deadly weapon in the hands of a tool.
