A friend of mine (who has an awesome gun collection) is looking to sell some of his guns. I offered to buy his Marlin 882ss off of him. He told me to name a price. It's in excellent condition and shoots like a dream. I want to give him a fair price so I went to the library to see their "Blue Book" copies and other gun pricing references. They provided a difference of about $60 between them. Considering the generally low price of rimfires, $60 is a pretty big difference, SO...
What would you guys pay?
I bought one from a local sporting goods store last year that was in like new condition; had a beautiful trigger job done on it as well and came with 2 mags. If I remember right, I walked out the door with it in a case for $125 with couple boxes of Hornady ammo for it. I thought (and have been told by a few others) I got a helluva buy. It's a great rifle, and I'm making it a little better by changing out the synthetic stock for a nice piece of Marlin walnut. Will post pics when it's all done. I've seen the same gun since at a few other shops for $175+
Wow that was a great deal! My friend's giving me all his .22WMR (about 100-120 rds) along with 2 magazines and his scope. I'm thinking I'll go up to $160.
I'd start at $150
never know what problems something has until you get into it.
A firearm should be a tool in the hands of a deadly weapon, not a deadly weapon in the hands of a tool.
