    Marlin 122 Auto-Safe

I just picked this up this afternoon.
Some previous owner cut down the stock to make it a "youth" rifle
It looks like the stock is splintered at the butt. but it's not.
Some tender woodworking will get it back in shape.
Anyone know where I may find a replacement stock for it?
    I haven't seen this model mentioned in the forum, so here's an oldie, but goodie.Marlin 122_14.jpgMarlin 122_15.jpgMarlin 122_19.jpgMarlin 122_16.jpg

Welcome from Goldthwaite, TX! Neat looking old rifle! Thanks for the pics, but no help on the replacement stock! John

That's a shame. There's some nice grain in that stock. Hndsome pistol grip cap, too. I'd be tempted to graft a new piece of wood onto the old stock to restore the original length, then paint a dark band around the end to hide the repair. Make it decorative, like it was supposed to be there.

Numrich has the stock for $70.50 w shipping. I found that later this evening.

I know someone that does gun restoration. Was thinking of doing just that.

Now the question is, how long is the stock?

Overall length of the 122 should be 40". There were only 5,648 made. It is essentially a 101 with the positive safety feature added.

Figure your length of pull should be about 14". Measure l.o.p. on yours and add the difference.
