how much would you pay for 22 lr ammo

I am going to an auction soon that has an enormous amount of 22lr that will be on the block. I know before the crazy hoarding the rounds were 5-6 cents. What should be my upper limit for 22 lr 10 cents, 12 cents. or is that too high and walk away from the bidding. I think they will be auctioning in blocks of 5000 rounds or better so anyway you look at it will be a chunk of money. I just do not want to be part of the problem and bid too high. Just looking for opinions

    Agreed 100%

Everytime I go looking for ammo there are a bunch of idiots who have never shot a gun before hoarding it up paying the ridiculous prices. I have been shooting for 20+ years and all I want to do is continue to enjoy the sport but I can't because of ignorant fricken yahoos who don't have a clue. I can't wait for the day when these people try to sell it and lose there ass on it.

I agree with yall 3-5 cents is reasonable, I just wanted to make sure I do not add to the problem. I will report back if these go for some crazy prices, which I am sure they will. might be fun to watch..........................

I can't even find any 22lr around here. I'm stocked up some, so ok for now, but not sure what I'll do when I run low. I refuse to pay the inflated prices everyone is asking.

Auction site prices right now are $200.00 per brick/500-------------------10X what it's worth-----------------I'm definitely not going to be part of the problem-------it's insane.

this is an auction of a private firearms collection as well as a hell of a load of ammo in the collection, so not on-line.

It depends on the ammo. Average should be 200 or less for 5000 rounds right now. However being an auction there is no telling. If your buying for yourself you have to decide what your limit is, but keep it realistic unless you are hurting for 22 and only want it for yourself then pay whatever you want.
I would bet you see it going for 300 - 500 a lot of 5000

For US made 22LR's, I have been drawing the line at 10 Cents so far (per 100 Rd Box). But if bought by Brick or a Case, it would need to be lower.

I passed on some 11 Cents Foriegn made stuff and walked out on some 20 Cent Federals both at LGS's.

3 Cents at Wal-Mart? If we had that around here, there would be a Riot.
