    Marlin/Glenfield Model 25

I bought a thirty something year old Marlin/ Glenfield Mod.25 last year and it really shoots ! Has a great trigger, smoothed out from years of use, and has a nice hardwood adult -size stock. It now wears a Simmons 3 x 9 deer scope, and it will be going squirrel hunting with me this fall after a summer of range time and new glasses. (My eyes will be 59 before squirrel season starts.)

I always liked .22's since I learned to shoot as a Cub Scout over 50 years ago.
Do they still have a Marksmanship Merit Badge, or is that a "bad thing"
    these days ?
    Anybody else have a Model 25 ?

    Marlin/Glenfield Model 25

My grandson cut his shooting teeth on a 25N..the first gun I got for him.

I like to outfit each of my grandkids out with a "starter's battery" of guns..

My grandson is now a spec ops Marine..just back from Iraq..

That little Marlin served him well, while in Iraq, he was his unit's "designated sniper"..

As a youngster, shooting groundhogs at the far edge of .22LR range, honed his skills..

    25

I love the 25. I use them for project guns and can buy them for a reasonable price at the local pawnshops. They are a good gun to shoot as is or a great platform for a project. Here are my 25's after some work.

    This I made into a 17M2.

    I always wanted a Mannlicher so I made a stock for a 25. It's a shooter.

I found a chuck of tiger maple and soon after found a 25 at a pawnshop. After adding some peeps and a 27" barrel, it became an old school target gun. This pic is of the unfinished stock. I can't wait til it's finished and I'm able to shoot it.

    Marlin 25

I just bought one off GUNBROKER.COM. I cleaned it thorougly today but balked on taking the trigger assembly and bolt completely apart. I normally do this, but decided to get it to the range before taking any chances that might get in the way of a fun day with my 7 year old son. I like the design of this rifle. It probably won't be my last model 25.
