I have a new XT-22TR, (tube fed model). The rear sight was cut crooked into the barrel from the factory so I want to replace it with a good peep sight.
I don't want to scope it as the rifle is already pretty heavy, (to me), and I don't want to add any more weight. Does anyone know what peep sight will fit it? Thanks.
Check out Tech-sights at Tech-SIGHTS Precision Shooting Accessories. they have peep sights for the Marlin800/900/XT. I have not tried them myself, but have read a lot of reviews and all have good things to say about them. I am trying to decide between the tech-sights and a scope. I'd rather go with the iron sights hands Dow, but trying to get feed back on whether the work well out to 100 yards when vision is not what it used to be...
Thanks much for your reply papa vid.
Dos anyone know anymore peep sights for it especially from Williams? Thanks much!
Look down the mag tube and see if that's crooked too Odds are the whole barrel is not mounted in straight.
Any peep sight for a 25N, 917, etc. Most any bolt action Marlin .22 or .17 will fit. It's the same action throughout. You will need a new, taller front sight, if you use a receiver mounted peep as it will sit higher than your old rear sight did.
Costco should sell bullets in those bins, like walnuts. Or you could buy two five gallon buckets of bullets, shrink-wrapped together.

Thanks JetBlack. No, the rear sight is cut into the barrel crooked. If you look at the slit cut into the barrel to mount the sight, it's cut slightly crooked.
