    6.5 55 Swedish Mauser

Just wandering if there's any swede fans on here, I've owned one for years, bought a new tikka t3 lite stainless a couple years ago and my daughter has killed 2 deer with it. My opinion it's the best women or kids guns shoots a 140 grain bullet and kicks like a 243

I really like the way mine shoots and it's not real picky about what ammo I shoot in it

I have one of these CZ 550. I may try to shoot an elk with it next fall.

Not the 6.5X55, one that was born in 1892. The 6.5x57R is a neck down of the 8x57R Mauser. This is a lever action Stevens 44 1/2 CPA, mfg in 2016. The 6.5x55 was my first choice. I needed a rimmed cartridge for the above action.

Built for off hand high power silhouette. Trigger is 8 oz. Original double set trigger design from 1902. Those guys knew how to build them back then.

I don't have a 6.5 but have a 595 and 695 Tikka and they command respect. I am a trigger freak and I don't know how I could improve on them out of the box.

I have been a 6.5 Swede fan for nearly 30 years. I had one model '96, it was called "The General" I shot in comps for over 25 years, it was an original Grandpa's axe, Had several barrels and a few stocks.
Sold it to someone who needed it more than me and bought a new Tikka T3 Stainless varmint and it shoots better than the '96.

My wife hunts with her custom Browning in 6.5 mm Swede. Excellent accuracy and killing power for not a lot of recoil. But if I were tackling this project again, I'd have bought her a 270 and simply downloaded it a bit to reduce recoil.
