Uh, er, yeah. I think I'm more or less blown away. Inspirational Guy - your skill and your solid setup. Thanks for this.

Thanks Paul. Getting serious soon about notching my late-season elk tag too. Same rifle, scope & ammo. Weather has gotten chilly, and I hope they elk are coming down into the lowlands.

Local tag, so I'll be hunting from home. Rough...

Hunted a few more days in December and tagged my cow elk. One shot from prone in the snow (brrr!) at 338 yards. The 165 gr Nosler Ballistic Tip went through the shoulder, tore up the lungs real bad and embedded itself somewhere in the off-side shoulder. I didn't recover the bullet. The meat is at the butcher now, he told me he'll save the bullet for me if he finds it. Was a great hunt and wrapped up the 2016 big game season real well.

It was an amazing big game season. I've never taken four animals in one season before:
    Bear at 325 yards
    Antelope at 245 yards
    Mule Deer at 140 yards
    Elk at 338 yards

Each with the Rem 700 CDL, .30-06, 2-7x Redfield, and 165 gr Nosler Ballistic Tip. I'm happy.

    Regards, Guy
