I've got a pound of XMP 5744 that's been in a closet for several years. Originally got it for the 44-40, but after a few trial loads, went back to Unique for that.
I've got some load data from Accurate for 5744 in the 357 and I'm thinking of giving it a whirl. Max load is showing 1368fps out of a 8" barrel. I'm thinking it should do a bit faster out of a rifle. But I'm hearing of incomplete burn issues with 5744 and I'm wondering if a heavy crimp will help that.
Anyone here ever try it in a 357?
Edit: Forgot to add that the data I have is for a 158gr bullet.
