I'm sure most of you have posted your loads elsewhere.
Would you please post any loads that you like, using Unique powder, in this one thread?
thanks
I'm specifically hoping for 45-70, 38-55 & 44-40 loads, but please post for any caliber

And please don't post a load unless you include a published source for that load - including the components - thanks. Best regards. Wind

Hey 45,
I prefer Universal Clays over Unique, same burn rate, but Universal meters better, chronos better, and burns cleaner, for me.
38 spec. 158LRN/LSWC & 4.5 Univ.&Fed 100 = 800fps. 44mag. 240LSWC 7.0 Univ =750fps, 7.5 Univ = 950fps, with W-W primer. Same for 45LC with the 255LSWC. and 7-1/2" revolver.
In 45/70, with either the 350 or 405LFP, the sweet spot will be between 13 and 14gr. of Universal Clays. Very consistent. Very accurate. 4-1/2" groups @ 200yds. with Skinner Express sight.

The 9mm gets 4.5 gr of Unique under 124 RN cast boolits. The .44 Mag gets 7.2 gr of Unique under a 200 gr RNFP cast boolit (shoots great in my Ruger SBH, but not so good in the 1894). The .44 also gets 7.5 gr of Unique under a 240 gr SWC cast boolit (again, good in the Ruger, but not so much for the 1894). The .45 ACP gets 5.6 gr of Unique under a 230 RN cast, and the the .38 Spcl gets 5.6 gr of Unique under a 125 gr JHP, while my .357 loads get 5.6 gr of Unique under a 158 SWC cast.
Unique is also the only powder I use in shotshell reloads...
I use quite a bit of Unique. When I first started reloading, Unique was one of the few powders I could get locally, and it worked well enough 35 years ago. There are some powders that will do some things better than Unique, but there aren't too many that are as versatile as Unique over such a large range of calibers.
