I've put almost a 1,000 rounds through my new Range Officer with various loads since December, and today the thought occurred to me that I might be proficient enough with the piece to put it to a meaningful accuracy test at 25 yards. I brought some 200 SWC with me over 6 grains of Unique. I had one magazine left. Sat down and squeezed off a careful 3 shot group over sandbags. I couldn't really make out what had happened from the bench. All my shooting with the Range Officer up to that point had been under 15 yards. The vast majority of it at 7 or 10. I thought maybe I missed the paper with two shots. Walked down range and found all three shots in one hole, the overall diameter well under an inch.
I felt a bit giddy about my Range Officer, walked back to the shooting house and shot the rest of the magazine offhand, again at 25 yards. Three of the four landed in one hole. The forth shot opened the group up to 1.5 inches center-to-center.
That was all the ammunition I had on hand. So I left it at that.
NO PICS? - nice shooting
That was a good time to run out.

Target grade pistols like this are capable at 100 yards with a good rest. If you can find a range that will let you it's a very valuable skill to master. You won't look at a 25 yard target the same again.
I agree, it looked like a great place to stop!
