    Dotty and Polly

Dotty, my current cat. I've had her since 2010.

Polly is no longer with us. I had her for 12 years before her kidneys gave out.

We have a Mainecoon, "Earl" (10) and an American Shorthair, "LC, Little Cat" (7) and a Blue and Gold Maccaw, "Sammy Joe", (30). We also have 19 grandchildren. If you ever wanted a bird, remember the Grandchildren go home, the bird stays with you! We also have a feral cat, caught in a live trap once, a leg hold trap once and still causes havoc with Earl. I should have done a video of getting it out of the coyote trap near one of the barns.

Is that one of those birds you may have to leave to one of the kids or grandkids in your will because it may outlive you (depending of course on your age when you got it)? I used to work with a woman in her 60s who while she was on the job got a pet turtle. I could live to 50. So I asked her if it was in her will.

Looks like you have a good buddy right there. I have had some good cats as well, when younger I would go "cat fishing" using the big plastic worms, or lizards tie them on a rod and reel (cheapo) NO HOOK of course, and cast out into some grass... drove the cats insane literally insane.... I once got the line over a tree limb accidentally (big old oak) cat shot up the tree, snatched the worm and hauled tail.... They never tried eating the plastic lures just played with them... Cats be be a lot of fun, and a good friend as well.

Yes! She should outlive me by many years. Numerous cats around the farm in the past 28 years we have had the bird. All realize that she is the boss and she can kick their tails in a flash.

I don't understand guys that say they hate cats. I grew up with both cats and dogs (outside pets) but have had a house cat every since I got a place of my own, back in the late 70's. Unfortunately I don't have one at this time. My buddy "Sam" lived with me for 18 years before his poor little body gave out. Best little pal I think I've ever had. He knew what time I should get home each day and would got stand by the door and wait on me. Only cat I ever had that would "fetch". Loved to play with a red laser, which kept both our site minds occupied for long periods of time.

I bet Dotty and Polly have/had a good home. I need to get another cat............

ZouZou looks like my mother's cat. Only older.

I've never had a dog. We never had dogs growing up. Turtles , hermit crabs, and cats. We lived in Hawaii for 3 years and there were geckos in the house. We loved those little lizards.

My sister on the other hand has had several dogs. And when her last one died suddenly I knew her claim to not getting another wouldst last. Not even a month and she's got a puppy. She also has two cats who are not welcoming.
