    MR-7 stock, bedding Question????

I have recently aquired a new to me Marlin MR-7 in 270Win
Upon dissasembly and cleaning, I noticed the bedding compound at the lug:
Does this look like the normal stock bedding?
Mine seems to have a large amount of bedding, is it compared to yours?
The barrel has not been full floated so I'm guessing mines stock, but..
I had another MR-7 years ago but don't remember noticing the bedding, if I ever had it apart.

    Thanks in advanceDSCN0743_2.jpgDSCN0744_2.jpg

This from an article in "Shooting Times" March 1996 titled Marlin's Centerfire Bolt Rifle By Rick Jamison
" A fiberglass bedding material is inserted around the recoil lug and extends to the rear under the large receiver flat behind the recoil lug. It serves the purpose of making a precise fit of the action to the stock in a critical area." So it is stock.

Good luck with it. I hope you like it.
I have been real pleased with mine. I added a recoil pad. 180 gr and larger bullets seemed to have a lot more kick.

Looks just like mine - and it works. My .30-06 will shoot right at 1-inch groups when I'm on my game.
