I just bought one about a week ago and love it. I also have a Savage Mark II, it's sister firearm. It is a tack driver (so is the Savage) but the difference is the tube feed. The mags on the Savage get in the way of easy handling. Also, you can shoot short, long, LR, and WMR .22 rounds in the Marlin and do not have to worry about losing your mag. I mostly shoot CCI CB shorts. It holds 25, which for a bolt action, is plenty. Yes, feeding it is a hassle, but I can get the tube loaded within a minute now.

I have both scoped with a low priced BSA 3x9 and can place almost the whole tube within the 5 ring at 50 yards. The Marlin has microgroove rifling so it will shoot Thunderbolt as accurately as CCI mini-mags. Out of the box, the bolt is a little stiff, but I am sure over time it will work it's self out as the rifle breaks in.
