    .410 to .223 Rem

Can a rifle barrel be mounted to the shotgun receiver. I have a new H&R .410 and would like to put a .223 barrel on it. Are the receivers the same and interchangable.

Physically it may fit, but I wouldn't shoot a .223 on an SB1 frame, the SAAMI MAP for the .223 is 55kpsi, the highest shotgun pressure is 14kpsi, big difference in the frame strength of an SB1 shotgun/rimfire frame and a heat treated SB2 rifle frame. You would risk ruining the shotgun frame, then you wouldn't be able to shoot the .410 on it. H&R won't fit any rifle barrel on a shotgun frame, just in case that's on your mind.

Thanks quick. That helps. I noticed the frame was simular to a friends Handi-rifle. Just wondered if there is a diffarence.
